Karuna Yoga Teacher Training
Program
The Sanskrit word Karuna is found in Hinduism and Buddhism. It is
translated to mean any action that is taken to diminish the
suffering of others and could also be translated as “compassionate
action” one that promotes peace, well-being and harmony. Karuna
is
the motivating quality of all enlightened beings who are working to
end suffering on Earth. 4025 Yoga and Wellness is proud to
offer a teacher training program that embodies this sentiment. The
practice of Karuna Yoga and the mission of our studio are one and
the same. Download an
application.
Our
Program
Our program is eclectic and holistic. It seeks to integrate Eastern
spiritual traditions with Western healing applications. It provides
the foundations of Yoga philosophy and Buddhist meditation, as well
as the anatomy and physiology basics to teach classes that are
beneficial for both the body and the mind. The program draws from
Yoga traditions taught
at 4025 Yoga and Wellness, while striving to teach adaptation of
classes to the special characteristics and needs of the persons
taking them. Students will be encouraged to tap into their
inner wisdom and open themselves to the possibility of learning
various traditions while gaining the ability to “customize” their
classes to their clients and students. Special attention will be
given to the Vedic Sciences as well as learning to apply adaptations
for teaching pre-natal and gentle yoga classes.
The program will
promote an environment for mutual learning and opportunities for
engaging in community service, which is essential to acquiring a
compassionate approach to healing through the teaching of Yoga.
The Karuna Yoga Teacher Training Program has a unique vision co-created by 4025 Yoga and Wellness Owner, Helen Campbell and
Director of Training, Carmen (Gauri)
Monico, MSc, RYT-500, TYMP, SEP In-training, PhD Student.
