Gauri (Carmen Monico’s spiritual name) is a Yoga Practitioner with advanced
studiesin Yoga and graduate degrees in development management and economics.
She is a Sivananda Yoga Master (500 level), a certified Thai Yoga Massage (TYM)
practitioner, a doctoral student of social work (Virginia Commonwealth University)
and of Yoga Philosophy and Meditation (International Vedic Hindu University.) Gauri
is also completing programs to become a Health Educator in Ayurveda and Yoga,
as well as a practitioner of Somatic Experiencing (trauma healing).
Gauri worked as part-time faculty member with the Prince George's Community College. As part of her Karma Yoga, she taught at the Shanti Yoga Center for Harmony, where she resided for 2 years, and at The World Bank, where she worked as a Senior Consultant and Project Coordinator. In addition, Gauri has 20 years of international work in the areas of humanitarian assistance, refugee and development with several non-governmental and international organizations. She has extensive experience in serving and ministering the Latino/a community in the U.S., whom she has continued to work in different capacities. Gauri is interested in blending these broad fields through research/policy work and holistic approaches to personal health and community development.
Candy Evans, E-RYT 500 - Instructor
Candy Evans, ERYT/RYT500 has been studying the wisdom tradition of yoga and practicing mediation and Tai Chi for more than 20 years and has been practicing asana for 6 years. She completed the 230-hour teacher training program at the Asheville Yoga Center in North Carolina under the direction of Stephanie Keach in 2007 and the Advanced Studies program in 2009. She has studied with many great and inspiring teachers from far and wide and loves and appreciates them all. She holds a BFA in Theatre from Virginia Commonwealth University and has worked as a trainer and teacher for more than 15 years. She enjoys bringing the practice of yoga to all people regardless of age, life circumstance, perceived ability, or experience. At 4025 Yoga and Wellness, Candy teaches Prenatal Yoga.
Jacqueline Gooding - Anatomy & Physiology
R.Y.T. 200 Instructor & Ashiatsu Massage Therapist
Jacqueline Gooding is a graduate of The Institute of Massage Therapies and is a Certified Medical Massage Therapist. She is also a sports Massage Therapist for The University of Richmond and A Certified Nurturing the Mother Therapist (which supports couples with fertility, conception, prenatal labor and delivery and infant massage). In addition, Jacqueline received her yoga training from Glenmore Yoga and Wellness and is R.Y.T. 200 with the Yoga Alliance. At 4025 Yoga & Wellness, Jacqueline teaches Yoga for Life’s Challenges and Mixed Level Yoga.
Iffet Cochran, E-RYT 200
Director of 200 hr Karuna Yoga Teacher Training
Iffet received her certification in 2007. Well versed in Yoga philosophy, Iffet brings a distinct brand of fun and play to the Practice of Yoga, while encouraging students to find their true Spirit, which is Bliss. A former professional French Horn player with the Richmond Symphony, Iffet received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Performance from New York's world-renowned Juilliard School. Iffet shares her West End home with her husband Scott, their two amazing little girls, Milena and Lili, and a variety of furry friends. At 4025 Yoga & Wellness, Iffet teaches Vinyasa with iffet and Vinyasa Express.
