Hatha Yoga 1 - 2

Janet Dresch, RYT 200

Janet is originally from Richmond, VA, and a “Northside Native.” Currently, she is a Health and Physical Education teacher at St. Michael’s Episcopal School for 25 years, with a Master of Science Degree in Health & PE., and served as Athletic Director there for 24 years.
She has been a yoga practitioner for eleven years and decided last year to become a part of the Teacher Training Program at 4025 Yoga Studio. Janets teaching philosophy is to make her classes enjoyable and fun, but also challenging – there’s always a new place to go in yoga . . . a new posture, a next level, even an ever deepening philosophical vein. “The concept of “better opening our minds and bodies” has completely intrigued me throughout my practices and training.”

Janet is married, with five grown children, and two grandchildren. She also enjoys a variety of other sports, but loves the non-competitive nature and the spiritual component of yoga. “I have always loved the art of teaching, and now teaching yoga has given me yet another venue for doing what I love.”

This class is a place to begin to build strength, stamina and flexibility by learning the basics of hatha yoga: postures (asana), breath work (pranayama) and relaxation (savasana). Students will build on the basics and hone their practice by enhancing stamina and flexibility. Tuesday’s and Thursday’s 6:00 - 7:15 p.m.  Register at the bottom of this page.
